January’s 8

1. Game – Rolando. The iPhone has its Super Mario Brothers. Rolando is incredibly intuitive, ridiculously cute and really fun. It’s the killer app for touch gaming.

2. Drink – Caribou Coffee Reindeer Blend. Mock me for using chain coffee if you must, but a friend gave me a pound of the whole beans as a gift. It’s delicious, especially when dripped through the coarse ground. My parents gave me the old grinder pictured here and it doesn’t produce a very fine powder – it’s more like thin flakes. They’re great for a Mr. Coffee-type machine or french press, but probably not anything that uses pressure to brew.

3. Snack – Buckeye. Not the actual vegetation, but a chocolate-covered peanut butter ball. It’s delicious, but I have no idea where to find them (if not from the same friend who gave me the coffee.)

4. Fright – The Worst Of Skymall. No explanation.

5. Questionable Accomplishment – 2,000 Twitter posts. A link to this post will be #1,998.

6. Frustration – Authors’ photos on book covers. If it’s not about a person and if it’s not for comedic value, why put it there? That’s not to discredit the book, but it’s weird carrying around a giant picture of someone’s face.

7. Plea – Vote for the bunny movie. Some friends from school made it and now it’s a finalist to go to Sundance.
