December’s 8
1. Gadget – The FM3 Buddha Machine. Matt Hurst introduced me to this $10 wonder in college. I found one on eBay and used it until the batteries died in June 2007. I just replaced them and I’m once again swimming in lo-fi loops while I browse, read and cook.
2. Comic – RASL by Jeff Smith. When is issue #3 coming out? No shops in Louisville have it, or any record of it.
3. Drink – Cambridge. A friend told me about this, but I can’t find any record of it online. A cambridge is earl grey tea (the drink of nerds) mixed with milk and honey. It’s delicious, and possibly misnamed.
4. Unattainable Goal – A perfect solution. Any Rubik’s cube state can be solved in 26 moves. I got one in 39. I wish I knew a strategy.
5. Improvement Effort – Hundredpushups. My arms are sore and not yet toned, but I can do it. Now I’m just bragging, on to #6.
6. Timekiller – Reddit. After months – years maybe – of inactivity, I re-opened my account. It’s the perfect bridge between work and hundreds of unread Google Reader items.
7. Sentence – Buffalo x8. The word buffalo has lost all meaning to me.
8. Movie – Can Mr. Smith Get To Washington Anymore? A bit old, but a great look at the dynamics of local and state politics.
