Reading About Nixon

Inspired by moving to Louisville and wrapping up campaign coverage, I’ve decided to read Hunter S. Thompson’s “Fear and Loathing On The Campaign Trail ’72.” I’m not into drugs or insanity, but I like Thompson a lot, and so far I like this book more than his other work. I’m on a Nixon history kick now, and this book is filling time until I read Nixonland. (A rearead of The Boys On The Bus started my Nixon obsession)

I took a break from reading last night to watch ‘Where The Buffalo Roam.’ It’s the precursor to the ‘Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas’ movie, and stars Bill Murray as Thompson and the late Peter Boyle as Laslo/Dr. Gonzo. I forgot how great it was.
